Sometimes, late at night, I just hit play and let the music take over. Each song, it’s like a marker on my journey, a note in the diary of my life.
Starting off, there’s something about “Delirious – Rain Down” that just gets me. Then, flowing into “Your Love is Amazing” by Brenton Brown, it shifts something inside. “One God” by Bob Fitts and “Ron Kenoly – Light of Life” follow, adding their own unique vibes to my playlist.
Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Somebody to Love” never fail to amaze me, while Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child o’ Mine” and “November Rain” bring back a flood of memories.
“La Bamba” by Ritchie Valens always gets my foot tapping, contrasting with the deeper tones of Linkin Park’s “Numb” and “In the End.”
“Hotel California” by the Eagles has this timeless feel, drawing me into its story every time. And you know what? It’s my mummy’s favourite too.
The melodies of Kishore Kumar and Mohd Rafi, with tracks like “Yeh Shaam Mastani” and “Likhe Jo Khat Tujhe,” bring a sense of nostalgia.
At the same time, Silk Route’s “Dooba Dooba” and Mohit Chauhan’s songs like Tum Ho, Phir se Ud Chala, Matargashti add a modern twist to my musical journey. Sonu Nigam’s “Bijuriya” and “Deewana,” Kunal Ganjawala – Bheege Hooth there and the soul-stirring tracks by KK like Alvida, Dil Ibadat, Ankhon me teri, Tadap Tadap, they all have a special place in my playlist.
Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sahab’s classics like “Kali Kali Zulfon se” and “Tere Rashke Qamar” transport me to another world.
Then there’s the adrenaline rush with tracks like Hardwell’s “Spaceman,” Afrojack’s “Turn Up the Speakers,” Avicii’s “The Nights” and “Wake Me Up,” Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s “Tremor,” DVBBS and Borgeous’s “Tsunami,” and Martin Garrix’s “Animals.”
Each beat, each drop, it’s like fuel to my fire, igniting that rush, that need to just let go and feel the music.
Each of these songs is not just a tune to me. They’re memories, emotions, and stories. They’ve been there in my highs and lows, echoing my feelings or sometimes just giving me the escape, I needed.
Writing this, I realise how much music has been my companion, my solace, and my inspiration. It’s more than just background noise; it’s the soundtrack of my life, each song a chapter, each melody a part of who I am.
