Rise and Shine

Woke up this morning, dawn painting the sky,
Shaking off the echoes of a silent lullaby.
Caught in the tangles of my mind’s strife,
Time to break free, it’s time to live my life.
Dreams of the night, fading with the moon,
Daylight filters in, can’t come too soon.
Slipping off the sheets, feet hit the floor,
A brand-new day, never seen before.
Get up, live your life, don’t let it pass you by,
Underneath the daylight or the starry night sky.
Walk your path, let your spirit fly,
The world’s your stage, under the bright sun high.
The coffee’s brewing, day’s gaining heat,
The heart’s still beating, won’t admit defeat.

Present is the moment, sparkling and clean.
